There are a million and one things we can’t control in this life. We can’t control the weather. We can’t control traffic (although the moron up front who’s doing 30 in a 60 zone needs a swift kick). But most importantly, we can never ever ever control other people.
There is one thing that we can absolutely control, how we deal with every situation. Life gives us choices each day, each hour and each second to make decisions that will push us further or set us back. How we deal with them is up to us.
Making difficult decisions is easy, like going out for drinks on a Tuesday night when you know you need to get your ass up at 6 am the next morning for work. Probably the wrong choice but it was fun! Or making the choice to go to the gym to blow off steam after a really long day at work instead of telling your boss to fuck off. See, choices.
We all wonder why bad things keep happening to us. Why we are constantly in this tornado of absolute chaos and destruction. Have you ever said “I’m a good person, why does this keep happening to me?”. Maybe it keeps happening because you’re an idiot and you’re making the same dumb mistakes over and over again.
The quote “when it rains, it pours” is absolute bullshit and nonsense. Now, some may get upset because like we stated above, things happen out of our control. However, do you ever stop to think that your small decisions had an effect on the downpour? The reason it’s pouring is probably because we decided to feel sorry for ourselves. We curled up into a small ball on the floor with the cat and a glass of wine and cried for days about how shitty the world is. Instead of trying to fix the small problem that has now turned into an issue. Sound familiar?
It’s all about how we react to the shit storm that can be life. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, how about we enjoy the mess. Enjoy being knocked down. Enjoy the chaos. Because in the end, those who come out of chaos usually have a much better story.
Light the fire under your ass. Dump the douchebag. Quit the job you hate. Buy that car you want ( don’t go into debt though because that’s a stupid choice). Drink that bottle of wine you’ve been saving. Be you and be happy.
Look at the world brand new and ENJOY the BULLSHIT! 99% of things can be flipped to the positive. Don’t stay in the mess for long.
